The idea: the center of a ball remains constant when rotating around its axis.

With this tilting table, the working height can be adjusted from -22mm to +2mm, so that the focus remains constant when rotating and tilting in all directions. The angle of inclination is up to about 30 degrees. The table is weighted down at the base and in the upper part of the table with copper shot for additional holding power.

The thread should ideally be free of play so that it does not wobble. This is almost achieved with a greasing paste.

The slip fit from the base to the rotating ball is adjusted by additional grinding with corundum sand.
